All-On-4 Dental Implants

The All-On-4 dental implants system is a revolutionary new way that we can provide highly-successful, permanently-supported dentures for our patients.

You may already be familiar with the fact that dental implants provide support for an individual crown that replaces a single missing tooth. In the case of All-on-4 implant-supported dentures, we can provide an upper or lower denture that is anchored to just four dental implants.

This is a more affordable solution than replacing each tooth with a dental implant because there are fewer implants needed and a shorter surgical time required. The other advantage is that we place a temporary denture in the patient’s mouth at the time the implants are placed, meaning that the patient goes home with a full smile.

All-On-4 dental implants create an entire dental bridge or just one tooth, depending on the patient's needs.

Aria Dental in Annapolis, MD, offers All-On-4 dental implants that give patients back their smile and confidence in their appearance again!

  • How All-On-4 Dental Implants Work

If you have lost one tooth or multiple teeth, they need to be replaced, and All-On-4 implants are one of your tooth replacement options.

You do not need a dental implant for each one of your missing teeth. All you need to restore your full smile are four implants on the top of the mouth and four on the bottom. Because the dental implant is made of titanium, it fuses to the jawbone and becomes a long-lasting foundation for your new teeth.

This fusion is not only necessary because it ensures that your implants are fixed in place; it can also help prevent future bone loss in the jaw, which will help you to maintain better oral health and a more youthful facial structure.

  • Benefits of All-On-4 Dental Implants

All-On-4 dental implants avoid bone graft surgery, use the fewest implants possible, and provide high-quality results in the shortest time. It is an excellent option for patients who need their remaining teeth pulled or have had extensive tooth loss.

  • How Are All-On-4 Dental Implants Different From Dentures?

Dentures are removable and should be taken out every night, while All-On-4 dental implants are a permanent solution for missing teeth since they are connected to the implants and solidly fixed in place.

All-On-4 are the closest thing possible to natural teeth and are brushed and cleaned like regular teeth.

Once the implant placement is complete, patients can also bite with more force with All-On-4 implants than with dentures since the stresses are transferred directly to the bone rather than to the gum tissue.

  • Recovery Period For All-On-4 Dental Implants

The All-On-4 dental implant surgery will take approximately two hours per arch.

This procedure uses oral sedation that should wear off in approximately four to five hours following the procedure.

The patient will need to follow a soft food and liquid diet for a few days following the procedure and minimize contact with the gums during brushing and flossing. The patient will be able to return to work within two to three days.

Patients will need several follow-up visits with the surgeon to assess recovery and progress.

  • Take The Next Step

We need to make sure that you have sufficient bone mass in your jaw to support an implant by doing an x-ray and CT scan. We will look into doing a bone graft that is capable of supporting an implant if you don't have the required bone mass.

If you are wondering if you're a good candidate for the All-On-4 dental implants or have some questions about the procedure, contact Aria Dental of Annapolis at (410) 280-5370. We specialize in implant dentistry, along with many other dental services.
